North Cheyenne Cañon Summer Camp 2013
North Cheyenne Cañon Park is hosting Summer Camp on June 17 – 21 for kids, 7-11, who are really interested in Nature! Hike the trails, forge a stream, explore the intricate ecosystem of an indigenous pine tree and take your chances in the Amazing Cañon Race! Campers become Junior Rangers at the end of the week with a certificate of completion and a badge! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to understand the secrets of cañon ecology. With this knowledge you can help save the world!
Campers will learn all about the ecology of the cañon through games, activities, lectures and exploration. An excursion to Rock Ledge Ranch will immerse campers in hands-on presentations of the cultural history of Pikes Peak region and how people have influenced the ecology of this area.
Outside all the time is the goal of this camp, so come prepared for the weather. Campers should bring a back pack with lunch, snack, water bottle, hat, jacket, sturdy shoes and sunscreen every day. We will provide the guided adventure, learning and special snacks each afternoon. Throughout the week, campers decipher clues to the big ecology question and on Friday complete the mission for this week of investigation. Space is limited for this one week Misson: Into the Cañon!
